From the August 19, 2006 edition of the Greeley Tribune:
The congregation of Grace Reformed Church in Greeley has called the Rev. Jon Blair as their new pastor, following the retirement of Rev. Gene Sawtelle. Rev. Blair was formerly the minister of Providence Reformed Church in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He moved to Greeley in June, along with his wife Wendy, sons Carson and Jonathan, and daughter Anna. He is a graduate of Mid-America Reformed Seminary, and in 2001 was ordained to the work of the Christian ministry in the Reformed Church in the United States (RCUS). Grace Reformed Church is a member congregation of the RCUS.
The name 'Reformed' comes from the 16th century Protestant Reformation, when the teachings of Scripture were recovered under the leadership of men such as Martin Luther, Ulrich Zwingli, John Calvin, and John Knox. The RCUS today seeks to carry on our heritage of God-centered worship and life, based on the Bible as the very word of God and our only absolute standard for doctrine and life. The historic Reformation creeds and confessions – the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession of Faith, and the Canons of Dort – also function in the life of the church as faithful summaries of the teachings of Scripture.
Says Rev. Blair, "I count it a humbling privilege to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, expressed in the great Reformation sola's – that salvation is by God's grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to the Bible alone, for the glory of God alone. All are welcome to join us in public worship and teaching."
Rev. Blair's formal installation into his new pastorate is scheduled for a special worship service on Sunday, September 10th at 11:00 a.m. Grace Reformed Church is located at 1501 10th Ave., with Sunday School at 10:00 and Worship Service at 11:00 every Sunday morning.
